Medicare Annual Enrollment for Coverage in 2023
Annual Enrollment starts on Tuesday, October 15, 2022 and ends on Saturday, December 7, 2022
Annual Enrollment is the time when you can join or change your stand-alone Part D prescription drug plan or Medicare Advantage plan for next year. Medicare and HICAP strongly recommend that you review your prescription drug plan or Medicare Advantage Plan every year. You could save money, get better coverage, or both.
New prescription drug and health plan choices are offered every year. Moreover, plans can and do make changes to their list of covered drugs, provider networks, benefits, copays and more. Your needs may have changed too. You may be treated for a new condition or take a new medication that may be more optimally covered by a different plan. According to a recent Forbes article, 90% of those surveyed were not in the most cost-effective Medicare plan for their prescriptions. Don’t be caught off guard when you go to the pharmacy or doctor next year and find that your drug or service isn’t covered or has a higher copay!
We may be able to help you save money during Annual Enrollment
In prior years we have saved beneficiaries a significant amount by helping them find lower cost prescription drug plans.
Here are some examples:
- Mrs. B saved $3900 due to one drug being dropped from her current plan’s formulary.
- Mrs. K saved $4400 due to one drug being reclassified into a higher tier.
- Mr L saved $9780 due to two out of his ten drugs being dropped from his current plan’s formulary.
We saved many others lesser amounts, in some cases about $100, others several hundred or thousands.
