Medicare Savings Programs

Medicare Savings Programs (MSPs) are federal programs that help individuals with limited income and resources pay for some or all of their Medicare costs, including premiums, deductibles, and copayments.

There are three main types of MSPs:

  • Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB),
  • Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB), and
  • Qualified Individual (QI)
